540Cycling is a cycling team and promotional group in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our riders are located in central and northern Virginia with a current focus on Fauquier and Prince William Counties. Our riders race and train throughout the region in all disciplines including road, mountain, and cyclocross.
Our team, founded in the Spring of 2009, has enjoyed quick success hosting USA Cycling sanctioned events and competing on both the road and trail. If you are interested in becoming a member or supporter of 540Cycling or one of our upcoming events, please contact David Henrickson at dhenrickson@540cycling.com.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2010 540Cycling Vint Hill Classic a success. Thanks, of course, to all the racers who came out for a day of fantastic weather and safe and enjoyable racing. It was gratifying to run an event that was so well supported and anticipated by area racers. We look forward to hosting more events in the future.
But we also want to send a special thanks to the following:
• Freshbikes Racing: Freshbikes Racing is a new team associated with the local Conte's stores (who provided premes throughout the day). They were looking for a way to satisfy their 2010 race requirement and many of their riders had raced in our 2009 540Cycling Development Series. When we announced our 2010 event, Jody, Evan, and the crew wanted to be involved. They manned every corner, provided valuable direction to racers, and took a lot of heat from motorists. We could not have pulled off the day without their help!
• MABRA Officials: It's hard to understand how important officials are to the function of a day of racing until you are involved in promoting an event. Not only are there many things to accomplish during every race in our day's calendar, they have to cover up for the foibles of boneheaded promoters. Thanks to our MABRA officials!
• Vint Hill Economic Development Authority: Special thank to Kim McKiernan of the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority. Kim takes a lot of pre-event heat that allows our races to go off without a hitch. Like last year, she was on site throughout the day to make sure everything went smoothly for the event and our racers.
• GamJams and GamJams Racing: GamJams is a great tool to help promote an event and being part of the GamJams Cat3 Cup really put the 540Cycling Vint Hill Classic on the map. GamJams also donated funds to help cover our race day volunteers and donated premes that were given away throughout the day. Not only that, guys from the GamJams team helped man our registration area when needed. Thanks, guys!
We look forward to seeing everyone back in Warrenton on Saturday November 13, 2010 for some 540Cyclocross! More details to follow soon…

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors we're hoping to make the 540Cycling Development Series an event that goes beyond the normal bike race. We've got premes for every race and great giveaways for all registered racers. Our volunteer staff is second-to-none and Vint Hill and the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department stand in full support of what we hope to be a great series of races.
